Alan White

Alan White (1949-2022) was an influential British drummer known primarily for his work in the progressive rock genre. He gained prominence as a member of the iconic band Yes, joining in 1972 and contributing to many of their most celebrated albums, including "Close to the Edge" (1972), "Going for the One" (1977), and "Drama" (1980). White's powerful drumming style and innovative rhythms became a defining element of Yes's sound. Before joining Yes, White played with John Lennon and Yoko Ono, featuring on tracks such as "Instant Karma!" and the album "Imagine" (1971). His versatility allowed him to transcend genres, collaborating with artists across rock, pop, and experimental music, including George Harrison and Joe Cocker.
